# Finds #1: animation at a click, documents as Markdown and a life in weeks

_15 October 2026_

What landed in my collection inbox this week. Briefly put into context, without testing and without a recommendation. Whether a find is any good only shows when you use it in your own project.

## Mesh2Motion: animating 3D characters in the browser

Upload a 3D model, choose a matching skeleton, fit it to the character, try out animations such as walking, running or swinging a sword, and export the result. That is [Mesh2Motion](https://github.com/Mesh2Motion/mesh2motion-app). It runs as a web app without installation, and locally if you prefer. Input and output are currently GLB/GLTF only (common 3D formats). The code is under the MIT licence; the included models and animations are CC0, so free to use.

Interesting for me, because characters for VR scenes need exactly this step.

## Anydoc: documents into clean Markdown

[Anydoc](https://github.com/firecrawl/anydoc) converts Word, PowerPoint, Excel, OpenDocument, RTF, EPUB, CSV and PDF into Markdown. Markdown is plain text with simple formatting marks. That is exactly what AI assistants like to read best. If you want to feed documents into a knowledge base or a chat, this saves you copying them by hand.

## AirLLM: large language models on a small graphics card

[AirLLM](https://github.com/lyogavin/airllm) does not load a language model all at once, but layer by layer. According to the project, a graphics card with 4 GB of memory is then enough even for very large models. The price is speed: each layer has to be loaded first. Exciting for experiments, less so for fluent conversations.

## Penpot: a design tool to self-host

[Penpot](https://github.com/penpot/penpot) is an open platform for design and prototypes, built for teamwork. You can use it in the browser or run it on your own server. The data then stays in-house.

## Reading tip for strategy gamers

TheGamer has a list of games for everyone who likes *Age of Empires*: from *Stronghold* and *Rise of Nations* to *Knights and Merchants* and *Manor Lords*. The article is from 2023, but the classics in it do not age. [To the list](https://www.thegamer.com/games-play-like-age-empires/)

## Food for thought: your life in weeks

A grid of boxes, each one standing for a week. You get around 4,700 if all goes well. The channel [@schraffuren](https://www.instagram.com/reel/Dd6Lz8hpNvj/) asks: how many of them have you already filled in? A simple graphic that does more than any guide to time management.
